Monthly Support Meetings

Our support meetings are a wonderful way to gain information, and network and connect with other parents and professionals who are interested in learning more about autism and the joys and challenges it brings. All are welcome! Feel free to attend either or both meetings. Meetings alternate between an informal chat format, where parents and interested parties can discuss whatever is on their minds, and a speaker format, featuring area professionals presenting autism related topics. We hold meetings at locations in both York and in southern York. Check out our event calendar for specifics on upcoming meetings!

Autism York North -

Autism York South -

Note: No meetings are held in December. Check calendar updates for possible Summer Meetings.

Anyone interested in learning more about Autism Spectrum Disorder is welcome to join us! No membership or RSVP is necessary to attend a meeting. FREE childcare is provided by at least two professional staff who are experienced with children on the autism spectrum. For specific information regarding this months’ or future meetings, click on the calendar link above.

Autism York hosts a multitude of autism friendly, family social events. Mornings at the movies, swim events, mini-golf outings, and much more are offered FREE or at a low cost to any individual with ASD and their immediate family in our community, with the hope that they may enjoy a stress free time together. Any individual or family that is affected by ASD is welcome to attend our events. There is no membership or registration required, unless otherwise noted. Immediate family members are welcome to attend our events! Come out, enjoy, and meet others who are experiencing similar circumstances. Our social events have become increasingly popular! We are proud to be able to give back to the community by hosting these social opportunities! Check out all of the wonderful events coming soon by clicking on our calendar link.

The Teen Meet Up Group, geared towards teens 13 - 17, is meant to facilitate new friendships among teens on the autism spectrum. Events will be held the third Friday OR Saturday of every month from September - November, and January - May. There will be no or little cost to teens and one parent who is required to accompany them. Events may include a baseball outing, bowling, movies, dinners, and much more! Some events may require an RSVP due to available spots and as a cost saving measure. All applicable teens are welcome and encouraged to attend! For more information, contact Kyle Dunlap at or visit our Events Calendar.

The Adult ASD Meet-Up Group meets on Monday or Tuesday of the 4th week of the month September - May (check website for scheduling of possible summer events). This group provides an opportunity for older teens and adults (age 18 and up) with an Autism Spectrum Disorder to meet for support, self-advocacy, networking, conversation, and fun. We meet at a different location each month for dinner or a social activity, such as mini golfing, bowling, or snow tubing. Please see the Autism York calendar for details regarding the activity, time, and location for upcoming Adult ASD Meet-Up outings. These events are free for individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and one guest. Contact Amy Sipe at for more information on our Adult ASD Meet Up Group.

"Being a part of Autism York is like being a part of a whole new family. We work together in support of meeting the needs of our children and ourselves".
Kris Kelly, Parent

“I find it comforting being around others who get how you feel and what you experience. I also love that I can walk away with some ideas for things that I have yet to try!”
Trista Geeting, Parent

“Before Autism York, we felt isolated, as though we were the only ones experiencing our types of problems. After attending an Autism York meeting, we realized that there are many others in our community with our same issues. It really helps when we are feeling overwhelmed to have a group where people understand and have experienced the same struggles.”
Stacey MacNeal, Parent

“Autism York allows us to enjoy going to the movies as a family, worry free. The events Autism York hosts are not just for our kids but for parents too. We can be around other families and share the same joys, concerns and tears! We have so many new friends plus now our son has friends too!”
Denette Ohl, Parent
